Senior Accountant

Position Overview

Ledgent Finance & Accounting's client is seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Accountant to join their accounting team in California. This role is essential for the company's rapid growth, with the Senior Accountant being primarily responsible for overseeing the month-end close, financial reporting, and various other accounting functions. This position provides an exciting opportunity to contribute to a dynamic team and manage a wide range of accounting duties.

Responsibilities

  • Take full responsibility for all aspects of the month-end process, ensuring deadlines are met and financial statements and reports are prepared in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate with sales and service operations teams to ensure smooth accounting transactions, providing support as needed, and contributing to budget building and forecasting for operations teams and special projects.
  • Work with other accountants to execute QuickBooks functions, supporting sales and service operations, and facilitate interface transactions to Salesforce and ADP.
  • Manage inventory control and facilitate monthly inventory count activities with service and accounting staff.
  • Oversee accounts payable, work with inventory logistics management and procurement purchase orders, and provide guidance to accounting staff.
  • Oversee accounts receivable, approve bills, and maintain customer relationships and satisfaction.
  • Work with managers to develop and implement accounting policies and procedures, assist in system implementation, and enhance accounting procedures.
  • Assist with ADP semimonthly payroll processing and prepare necessary reports.
  • Collaborate with CPA firms on tax tasks as needed.
  • Assist with office and team operations in other areas and various projects.

Qualifications

  • B.S. in Accounting from an accredited college required.
  • 8+ years of broad accounting experience with increasing responsibilities; experience in inventory control is preferred.
  • 2+ years of supervisory experience or the ability to lead a small team.
  • Skilled in preparing accurate and complete financial reports from accounting records.
  • Experience with QuickBooks and intermediate to advanced-level Excel skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Outstanding organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Excellent analytical and strategic problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
  • A proactive attitude.

Benefits

Max Pay: $125,000

Min Pay: $90,000
